Living
it up. (Living Room)
Getting together with family and friends in your living room is one of
life’s most pleasurable experiences. Add just the right touch of
light, and these moments can turn into memories that will last a
lifetime. Your living room can be used in many ways for a number of
different occasions. You entertain, watch television, read, listen to
music, and relax here. With this in mind, diversity of lighting should
be the rule. In general, at least 5 to 10 sources of light are
recommended. This will deliver an unparalleled combination of ambient
and directional light. They provide a soft glow in the background,
while you place a table lamp on each end table and a swing arm floor
lamp beside a fluffy chair for reading. If you have a piano in this
room, you can add a piano lamp for an accent.
Feed
your imagination. (Kitchen)
Do you hunger for a host of brilliant possibilities? Then try your hand
at lighting your kitchen. While serving as the busiest room in the home,
your kitchen will always need to adapt to a host of activities. This is
the primary reason why kitchen lighting should be both versatile as well
as practical. To enhance your appetite for working in the kitchen, you
need to highlight and emphasize various activities. This will
immeasurably enhance the time you spend here, and simultaneously may
even increase the overall safety factor. A ceiling fixture can provide immediate ambient light, while hanging a pendant
over the kitchen table gives you the functional light you need for
eating or working. You can
also add accent lighting by plugging in a nightlight or a mini boudoir
lamp. Under cabinet lighting gives you more functionality so that you
can see your sink and counter tops more clearly.
Not
just for dreaming. (Bedroom)
Even though you spend the majority of your time here counting sheep, you
can create a brilliant solution that will make your waking hours here
much more enjoyable. Bedroom lighting is all about comfort and
practicality. Therefore, you need the flexibility that diverse types of
lighting will provide. The main source of light should be ambient, in
order to provide a neutral, relaxing background. This can be achieved by
installing a flush mount ceiling fixture in the center of the ceiling.
Other types of lighting can be added in the form of accent and
task lighting. Lamps placed on your night stand provide the best source
of accent lighting while a reading lamp, often with a swing arm body,
can be manipulated so the light is directed to your book.
Bright
ideas. (Study/Office)
Do you whistle while you work? Our work lighting solutions will help you
stay fresh and focused whether you’re sending off a simple letter, or
burning the midnight oil. While you’re planning the lighting in your
study or home office, please remember the advantages of having an
assortment of lighting levels. There are several sources of ambient
light you can apply to this room. The best artificial light for reading
is Halogen light because it mimics natural daylight better than any
other source of light. We offer a variety of Halogen desk lamps to serve
this purpose. Although this light is mainly functional, it also reflects off
the desk or your papers to create even more light in its vicinity. If
you place a table lamp in another part of the room and a torchiere in a
corner, this will balance the light sources well. The uplight of the
torchiere will provide much of the ambient light since it reflects off
the ceiling. Another bright idea is a purely functional light
specifically for the computer. Your desk lamp will provide a decent amount of light
but may not be sufficient enough while you’re working at your
computer.
Showered
with light. (Bathroom)
The bathroom is often neglected when it
comes to lighting. With a little imagination, you can transform your
mercenary approach to bathroom time into a luxurious experience! Make
sure you have enough ambient light so that the area where you shave and
apply makeup are well lit. You can do this by installing a vanity bar
with 2, 3, or 4 lights. This is normally installed right
above the main mirror and sink. If you choose to have the lights go
upward, then this will create more light since the source will bounce
off of the ceiling and walls. If you choose to have the lights face
down, then the light source will be more focused. Some bathrooms are
equipped with wiring on either side of the vanity mirror instead of on
top. In this case, install a 1 light wall fixture on either side of the
mirror and this will create a wonderfully lit environment.
The
Bright Outdoors. (Outdoor)
Outdoor lighting is decorative by day, but
functional by night. Evolution Lighting, LLC. offers a variety of brass, steel,
and die cast aluminum outdoor fixtures to suit your every decorative
taste. When lighting the outside of your home, think about the number of
entrances you have into your home…front door, side door, back door,
garage. You will want to illuminate each of these areas. Try 1 lantern
on either side of your front door and a small
lantern between your garage doors. You can add any
type of lantern to the back door and side door, depending on the space
you have and where the wires are located.
